Primates are found in South and Central America, Africa and some of the southern parts of Asia. Due to year-round warm temperatures, they find their necessary food supply. Tropical forests and subtropics are their natural habitat. Most species are arboreal, but some old world species are semi-terrestrial. Primates are social animals, and they move in groups. New world species form groups containing 3-30 members, and old world species can make up groups up to 100 individuals.

Information Monkey -
photo, baby
Owning a primate is a big responsibility. They are not like ordinary domestic pets, but wild animals. Keeping primates happy and healthy in captivity is difficult, expensive and time-consuming. Some cities and states prohibit keeping of some primates, while others require special permits. Domestic environment cannot meet their physiologic or biologic demands and may take a crippling effect on their mentality. Simply put, they are purely wild animals and are absolutely unsuited for city life. Prolonged dwelling in closed spaces frequently results in serious behavioral abnormalities that make them dangerous to their owners. Information, monkey photo and baby care can be found on most conservation sites for endangered monkey species.
