Primates are social animals. As for New World monkeys, their groups usually consist of 20 members at maximum. Old World primate groups have from 30 to 100 members. Family groups, multi-male groups and one-male groups comprise the three kinds of social monkey groups. These animals are popular in all parts of the world, and many of us would like to have them as pets. However, home environment is but the last thing monkeys are fit for, and such a relationship between a human and a primate may end in a disaster.
